Advocacy
Shuchona Foundation’s roots are in advocacy, particularly in the policy arena. Our advocacy efforts focus on outreach for this through exploring and engaging appropriate platforms (awareness/sensitization training, publications, etc.) nationally and globally to facilitate the promotion of multisectoral approach to ASD/NDDs, disabilities, and mental health. This includes engaging in relevant national and international forums, UN forums, WHO forums such as World Health Assembly, CVF, etc.
Comprehensive awareness initiatives are taken in the following ways:
- Developing specialized content for any audience to encourage them to develop a positive mind-frame to accept inclusion in all spheres of life. We intend to continue to support stakeholders so that the right kind of information is disseminated during sensitization activities.
- Shuchona Foundation has published reports based on different initiatives undertaken at different times. The commercial endeavor in publishing an artbook, Unique Glimpses in 2017, and Pracheer Periye in 2022 has given motivation to continue such activities as a way to foster awareness and sensitization in the field. Pracheer Periye is an autobiography by a self- advocate Dr. Stephen Shore, translated in Bangla.
- Continuous dissemination of information through various social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Our likes, followers, and subscribers respectively are all organic, and our engagements on social media consistently increasing.
