Completion of Refresher Courses on the Social Communication and Emotional Skill Development of Children (SCESD) Manual

Shuchona Foundation conducted 2-day long refresher trainings for the members of the Kishor-Kishori clubs in Sirajganj, Rangamati, Chaudanga, Gopalganj, Moulvibazar and Jhalokathi in 2020. The training program was on “Social Communication and Emotional Skill Development of Children, aged 0-5”, organized by the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs (MoWCA) and Shuchona Foundation. The aim of the training program with the youth groups are formed to create awareness on early childhood development, and it focuses on youth leaders with the objective to disseminate the learning through peer groups to their respective communities. The training sessions included the implementation of the SCESD Training Manual where participants shared their experience and the problems they faced during the procedure. The trainers guided and worked alongside the participants by helping them illustrate some activities from the SCESD Training Manual. They also encouraged the club members to work independently as well as in groups. The 4-day long refresher training in Jhalokathi, from 02 till 05 December 2020, marked the completion of all the trainings for the adolescent clubs selected for this project. It was a long journey since 2017 and Shuchona Foundation is happy to be a part of such a significant initiative with MoWCA. We hope that with these trainings, the peer leaders of different KKCs will have a significant impact in their community and clubs to disseminate the knowledge on early child development.
