Unlock Big Change – Education: The Key to a Better Future
On 21 September 2020, Chairperson Ms. Saima Wazed participated in an event on “Unlocking Early Childhood Education”, which was one of the sessions of the “Unlock Big Change – Education: The Key to a Better Future”. The event was hosted by Theirworld and Global Business Coalition for Education. It was a digital conference featuring interactive panels, debates, networking and presentations with world leaders, business and foundation executives, youth and celebrity advocates, innovators, and change makers. In the event, the ECD specialists spoke about the importance of education and what can be done to be more effective advocates and mobilize concrete, tangible progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 - equitable and inclusive quality education for all. Because campaigning for education is more important today than ever before, as economic hardship is putting education on the chopping block of government and international budgets – and placing it at greater risk of falling off the list of corporate and philanthropic priorities. To emphasize more on that notion, our Chairperson Ms. Wazed explained how Bangladesh is making early childhood education a greater priority, as early years of education is important especially for children with disabilities. She wrapped up her discussion by saying “Partnership with parents” is the key to any initiative on Early Childhood Development.
